Even women can have tattoos. It is not the exclusive domain of the male of our species. Although there are no hard rules to follow and any design can be used by anyone nowadays, the usual preferences for female tattoos are butterfly and flower tattoos. These symbolize and depict the feminine.Flowers with leaves and vines could be inked to meander around the ankle and function as a permanent anklet. The design can be extended to curl around the upper leg, and even throughout the body if one so wishes. Larger flowers could be tattooed to cover a whole back. Smaller ones in clumps or alone could decorate the upper arm, the chest, the lower back, or the upper back shoulders.
Tattoos are used as decorative symbols of a person’s character and personality. Some of the most symbolic flower tattoos are the rose, the lotus, and the cherry blossom. The rose is said to symbolize romantic love, the lotus symbolizes hope and spiritual awakening, and the cherry blossom is a symbol of feminine power and love for the Chinese and the transience of life for the Japanese. Other flower tattoos that are being used are the hibiscus, the lily, the daisy, and the exotic orchid.
